You just deleted the driver. No big deal. If your computer is built by a company like Dell, Emachines, Gateway, HP, etc., then they probably have the driver on their website. It usually corresponds to the model of the computer. If you built it yourself, then you'll have to figure out the exact model of the soundcard, which may or may not be available in hardware profiles in Device Manager, which is in the System folder in Control Panel.
I suspect, tho, that you have what most other people have: Integrated Sound. Most likely you have Realtek AC 97 Audio, the driver for which can be found here:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
Make sure you specify your operating system when selecting the download.
Hope this helps.

All you really did was delete the Sound Card drivers.
Look through CD's that came with your PC. One of them should be titled "drivers".
Put the CD in your drive, go to My Computer on your desk top and double click on the drive the CD is in. Look for a file that has the same name as your sound card or one that indicates it's an audio driver.
Just double click on the appropriate file and it will install itself and once it's done you should have your sound back.
Good Luck!

It sounds like you deleted the software for the actual sound card. The only way to get it back on is by installing it over again. If you don't have the disk to install the software you should be able to just go onto the website of the manufacturer of your sound card and get the driver and/or software for it.
