It isn't round - it is slighty egg shaped - and we don't fall off because gravity holds us down

Cause the gravitational pull keeps you anchored. If you try to do the high jump at athletics look at the effort involved to overcome gravity. In order to get free from the Earths gravitational pull needs a rocket or similar with the power to accelerate to thousands of miles an hour. The reason the Earth is round goes back to when the planet was formed out of gas and dust as it was spinning which caused the circular shape.

It's round because Gods hands make round planets when It squeezes stuff together. No? OK, lets get a bit serious.
During formation, the Earth was a lot more plastic than it is now, so gravity easily pulled it into an sphere, counteracted by the rotation, this formed an oblate sphere, which is what we're on now.

Firstly, the Earth is more than round, it's spherical and secondly, it is that because of the gravitational forcefields that hold all of the elements in place because of their atomic numbers and weights and all that jazz. These, if you like, are 'attracted' to the core of the Earth because that is made up of metals and therefore is magnetic which holds everything together.

We don't fall off because of it being 'round' it makes it seem endless; circles have no ends, don't they? You just keep going and going but you'll never find it and therefore you'll never fall off. Also, gravity wouldn't let you fall off because all that atomaical pull that holds us down.

All moons are not round, far from it, take a look at the moons of Mars! Gravity played it's major part when the Earth was evolving in a molten form thus allowing gravity to to equalise the shape

the answer to both questions is "gravity".
There is a "theoretical" force at the center of our planet that pulls everything towards it, making the planet round (if it was square, the corners would be farther away, but the force is pretty much equal in all directions, so it makes sense that the planet would be a round shape). We don't fall off because we are pulled to the center of the planet as well.

and we dont fall off because of the gravity and orbiting

Actually it's not exactly round.

Fill a pail about 1\4 with water and then swing it around holding your arm straight and swinging from the shoulder. The water stays in the pail. That's the same reason we stay on the earth.

What does the shape have to do with falling off? I know, you're just trying to get us going. LOL
