First of all, use only quality microfiber towels. Learn how to properly wash, clay, polish and wax because proper technique minimizes swirls.

The best wax is harder to answer because people like different "looks", have different levels of experience, price points, and detailing habits. I think that Pinnacle Souveran is the best carnauba wax (gives deep pool of black water, more glow than outright gloss, really high class look, darkens the color) but as a show wax, it lasts about 2-3 weeks only and costs about $65-70 a jar. I also like Klasse All-In-One with Klasse Sealant Glaze but car has to be perfectly polished for it to be appreciated. So back to reality. For auto parts store products, Meguiar's NXT, Mother's Reflections and Duragloss 105 and Duragloss Aquawax are the best for black, in my opinion. Of these, I'd go with the Duragloss products as they are less expensive yet superior (approaching the performance of boutique products).

I use Turtle Wax Colour Magic (Black ) on my car. It comes with a small "chip stick" . My car is only 1 year old and it does not need the colour restored but it gives it a fantastic shine to the car and it lasts a few months before you need to do it again.
The only problem i have with the colour of my car being black it shows up a lot of small marks and scratches so the chip stick helps cover up a lot of these small Marks as well.

You can use pretty much any wax I prefer the car2000 wax and in order to avoide swirls dont make them! its as simple as that when waxing your car use a mitten with microfiber and just wax it in one direction only i do it from left to right and back..and nothigns visible just looks beautiful!

I use a wet Look on My camaro '69. I don't use a cloth at all I use an electric buffer. looks sweet no swirls.
run the buffer back and forth not in circular pattern to avoid the swirls. get the less expensive buffer as one the body shops use is high speed and you can burn the finish if not careful.
It is called a reciprocating buffer about 9" buffer pad.
