I'm just over 7 weeks and since yesterday morning, I have felt totally grossed out by the thought of food! This is new because up until now, I have had no problems at all - in fact I have felt great all along! Yesterday and today, I've had to force myself to eat something. Just the thought of food is making me feel nauseous. Is this normal? Any idea how long this will last?

Probably throughout the first trimester at least--but the strength of your aversion to food will probably fluctuate...sometimes you'll be hungry and eat a lot--other times you'll eat nothing, etc...sometimes a bit--Some poepl ahve this going on throughout their entire pregnancy--it just depends on the individual--some lucky ones never have it at all--with my son--I had no nausea--but now I am getting some..so it's not even consistent with an individual...

Well I'm almost 7 weeks and that started for me a week ago. My nauseousness starts in the PM after I eat lunch and every smell has me to the brink of losing it. Some days I'm better than others but it's not going to subside until the 3rd month. Unfortunately some women even feel sick throughout the whole pregnancy.. my sister did. Not much you can do. Eat lots of toast and drink lots of water. That's what I do and it helps.... good luck on the journey and congrats!

Every pregnancy is different, so I am sorry, but nobody knows how long it will last. Mine started in the second trimester and lasted until the beginning of the 3rd trimester.

You might want to ask your obgyn for a prescription or samples of Premesis...a prenatal vitamin that helps against nausea.

I wouldn't eat pork or beef during my entire pregnancy. If you can handle milk, drink as much skim milk as you can. It takes away the craving for ice cream, is healthy, and is loaded with calcium and protein, and keeps you hydrated.

everyone is different

but - i'm now almost 18 weeks, and want to eat from the time i wake up til the time i go to bed!

that just started a few days ago.

i found that when thinking of food grossed me out, i still would take a bite or two of something i always liked, and i'd end up actually being hungry, even tho i never felt it.

i was like that for the first 4 months of my pregnancy try to make sure you keep your prenatal down and if that isnt possible at least be sure to get lots of folic acid. i also found peppermint patties to help with the nausea and also avoiding foods with strong odors helps( i had a horrible incident in a resturant with sourkraut at a nearby table) fruit was usually semi safe with me and good for the baby too
