St. Patrick's Day has become a US holiday as well as a Irish and Catholic holiday (good Catholics should be at mass rather than the bar, he, he, he). Besides, Irish or not if you don't wear green, you will get pinched!

PS: Beanzai, it is true. Green is for Catholics and orange is for the Protestants. My father is of Irish decent and Catholic and my mother is not and Protestant. One year she wore orange and my dad was Pissed!!! For info on why, do a little research on Catholic and Protestant relations in Ireland.

I guess you don't live in any large city in the US. Most have St. Patrick's Day Parades, and everyone wears green.

If you don't wear green, you aren't allowed to party! They'll throw you right 'outta da 'place. Everyone has a "touch of the Irish" on the 17th.

I heard green is for Catholics in Ireland, orange is for Protestants, so I wear orange since I am Episcopalian! This may be total crap, but it makes my best friend irritated and we renew our little "feud."

Any reason for a party, though, right?
Happy St. Paddy's Day!
Cheers!

Don't you get it? EVERYONE'S IRISH ON ST. PADDY'S DAY!!!

That's what makes it such a cool day. Name another ethnic holiday anywhere that is as welcoming as this one!!!

Don't know of any German holiday where everyone is considered German for a day... :)
