for philosophers, life is a dream, and for poor people life is a night mare, for laymen, life means mere existence on this earth till they get death.

It may be a lot of things.

1. a word
2. the contrary of death
3. a state of a no more living being
4. a gift from God
5. a biology term that referms to a relation of cells and their state
6. a noun
7. a set of phonemes in a certain order
8. a graphic expression
9. an expression of a questioning person
10. all of these above plus what you had in mind when you asked this question, because when one asks something, one has a notion of what the thing in quesion may be and what may not.

Life is our opportunity to fulfill in our own way the flowering of our own spirit so that we may return to God as a spiritual being that is a wiser, kinder, more loving and in all other ways a closer representation of God who made us in God's image.
