Semantics. Plame became categorised by making use of the Intelligence Identities safety Act as an "operative" no longer a "covert agent". A covert agent ought to fulfill 2 standards: one million) the agent ought to presently or interior the previous 5 years served exterior of the US and a pair of) the intelligence organization (CIA) ought to have taken steps to actively look after the agent's covert status. very almost precisely 5 years after her final distant places task, events interior the White homestead revealed her id and status as a CIA operative to the click. jointly as The White homestead argues that the 2d standards had additionally no longer been met, Plame became nonetheless working for a CIA front and such pastime "ought to" be construed as taking a step to maintain the agent's status. So, as a replace of merely making a whistleblower look undesirable, The White homestead blew the conceal of various covert brokers because of the fact their place of employment (the CIA front company) became additionally uncovered, thereby endangering various lives and in all possibility derailing the intelligence accumulating efforts of the CIA, which comprise the monitoring of WMD. no longer extremely smart. in reality, very almost criminal. very almost.

Oh now come on. This little charade is just getting started. I wouldn't start gathering the lynch mob just yet. There is plenty more to come out about this case.
I personally guarantee you that no body is charged with a crime for revealing Plame's name.
-Libby was not. His charge was lying to a grand jury.

People who keep defending this are a grasping a whatever they can to hold on to!
Even in the face of the truth!
"You believe the CIA now" as in Tinkers response!!!???
Aren't we supposed to be able to believe people in government?
Armitage said he outed Plame!
Try as they might it is quite clear how diseased this administration is and many should be imprisoned!
Just as when Slick Willy was president!
Do we really want a Mafia type government?

No, because:
1) Plame was NOT covert. If she was, Fitzgerald would have prosecuted someone for revealing her name. This was the purpose of his investigation.
2) It was not Cheney who revealed her name. It was Richard Armitage.

I really think heads need to roll over that debacle. Since it involve national security matters in a time of conflict, prison time is in order for whomever the mastermind was.
This smells so much like the Nixon administration.

Just because some Democrat Congresscritter says something, that doesn't make it true.
This is just another Democrat witch-hunt, which will be a bunch of sound and fury, complete with a trial by media, but without any true findings, facts or convictions occurring.
Another Democrat Soviet-style circus-trial.

Richard Amatidge leaked her name. Scooter only lied to the grand jury, not leak her name. How could she say she was covert if she was going to work everyday at the CIA. She would drop the kids off at school then head to work. Do you think no one thinks you work at McDonalds if you go there in the uniform everyday?

Interesting...since Patrick Fitzgerald--the special prosecutor--investigated this matter and found that no crime had been committed.
