Hmmm. Maybe if it's convinient, try to get an xray done to see if you broke anything or if there is suggestion of any tearing.
However, all the doctor is just gunna tell you to stay off of it and to do the RICE method (unless it's a REALLLLLLY bad break and you need a cast--doubtfully because it would be hurting a lot more). So I'd just continue with the RICE method and try to stay off of it completely as much as you can.
Normally, if you DID sprain your ankle, it could take anywhere from 1-3 or even 4 weeks to fully feel better.

Your muscles sound like they are stressed. You should make sure that your stretching very well, yes, even your feet, before you do any type of exercise, running, jumping, walking.
When your body is not used to something, or when you start something new, it can put parts of your body in shock, which is what it sounds like is happening here, you could go see a doctor, chances are that you need to take potassium, or some type of vitamins. You may be experiencing charlie horses and of course the swelling would be from the muscle being stressed, or tender.
Keep on icing and ricing, but make sure you're still using the foot, you want to get it used to mobility, not scare it from.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Feel something moving inside your foot? could be a worm (happened to somebody I know), stepped on something lately?
Well just kidding! if the RICE has not given you any results I would advise visiting your doctor. That feeling of something moving could (but could not as well) be a sign of something displaced or ruptured.

You've tried the RICE protocol for a week with no results, so it's time to see a doctor. You could have a stress fracture of one or more bones, and it needs to be addressed .
