That's what they have been promising for a long time. They haven't done a good job of bringing people out of poverty. Maybe because they never want you out of poverty.

I honestly believe that the intentions of Democrats are genuine. Most people who vote Democrat honestly believe they are doing so to help the poor. The problem comes from execution of the programs and their misconception of the personalities of those they are intending to help.
All government programs are filled with corruption and inefficiency. Money is wasted without a thought because those administrating the programs view tax revenue as an endless stream. Private charities tend to be more efficient because those who donate to them require more accountability.
Many people on government assistance have no intention of bettering their lot in life and why should they. There is a support network out there giving them food, medical care and housing. People howling about poverty and the poor in this country don't understand what real poverty is. How many poor Africans, Central Americans, etc. have PlayStations, Nikes, etc. Poverty becomes a cycle because we continue not to expect our poor to take the steps to lift themselves up and do what is needed to become productive members of society.
Don't get me wrong, there are those out there who take advantage of government programs to get themselves an education and to legitimately take care of their families.

I guess you're talking about democrats. I doubt that "dems" is some sort of Ebonics or urban slang for "they". Like Republicans, they are all different. Some are good, some are imperfect, some are disillusioned, and some are bad. Red and blue are just colors, and party affiliations are just labels. You should look at each person as an individual, research their positions and voting record, and make your own decision. Usually posting rhetorical questions on the internet won't educate you very much. I must say, most of the internet bashing I've seen has been directed at Republicans by people who, I assume, consider themselves Democrats(?)- Your question is a rare exception. If you are a Republican, you may consider maintaining the level of class and restraint from mudslinging they have a reputation for. Just a thought, from my own mind, not something I read in propaganda.

The democrats promise they cake they have already eaten and the masses are to stupid to realizes that vomit doesn't taste that good. Their voodoo communistic Economic policies do not and will not ever win or work. SO they must rely on lies or logical fallicies and brain washing and straight up ruining of people to be in power.
HILLARY CLINTON QUOTE "I DECK MY OPPENENT!", that does not sound very civil.

Oh noooo, President Lyndon Johnson's war on poverty solved all of that.Remember him? He was the democrat that escalated the Vietnam War.
Chi Guy, the 90's stock market boom was proven to be a big corrupt fraud. The bubble crashed before 9/11 so don't try to sell that line of garbage.

Democrats have their congregation trained to believe higher tax rates are good for the country. If they don't get your money through taxes, it will be user fees, licenses, property taxes, liquor taxes, luxury taxes, RV tax, traffic fines, telephones, utilities, etc. I could go on.
The last large federal tax hike went into effect in 93. I don't know if that was Bush or Clinton.

No. They will continue to spend money they dont have just like Ronnie and GHWB and GWB have taught them. Those stupid Chinese will keep buying our worthless bond paper forever. Remember balanced budgets? Sigh.
Republican Prayer:
"Please don't let the Chinese go capitalist. We don't want them to realize how worthless that paper really is."

Most industrialized nations get more taxes than we do.
Beyond that, Republicans support tax cuts mostly for the rich, businesses and other forms of CORPORATE WELFARE. Maybe Republicans should stop putting the tax burden on the poor and disappearing middle class.
