Yes, why not? That's what upgrades are usualy for, to give you a better computer experiance. it would be wise to fix what wrong with your current system though...

Yes, you can, but, what is the problem that the system is not working properly at this time? Might want to fix that first, and then do the upgrade. And, of course, the other question would be, what are you going to be upgrading in the computer?

You can upgrade the sytem by doing several different things, it would depend on whats wrong with your sytem now, if its a bad hard drive you can replace it, if the sytemboard is bad that can be replaced too depending on the type, the cost will vary.
