I am considering getting on birth control but I don't know if I should either get on the pill (or) the shot. I wouldnt mind putting on a few pounds because I'm very petite and slim. So can someone tell me what they think will be best for me??

I am on Depo (the shot) and have no complications with it. People blame weight gain on birth control and that's just ridiculous. :)

With the shot you don't have to worry about taking it daily, therefore making it much easier. The only downside I have experienced after being on Depo for several years is the change in your period. I just started back on Depo in Feb. since giving birth in December and my periods are still out of wack!! Feb was about 2 weeks and March almost 2 weeks too...Your period will cease all together, which in my case I LOVE.

Like I stated before, with the pill you have to be very diligent, and not miss a day for it to be most effective.

As with all medications for birth control, be sure you use a condom unless you are married or KNOW you are both faithful and disease free. The above mentioned forms of birth control do not protect you against STD's or AIDS.

Good luck and of course talk to your doc. about your options, cause there are many more birth control options out there.

Well it all depends. Can you or are you willing to keep up with taking the pill. Because if you stop or miss one, that's not good. So if you have a bad memory maybe the pill is a bad way to go.

I haven't heard much about the shot. But I do know a few that wear a patch, which is okay but then again you have to remember to put it on, blah blah blah...

there is alot of scary things about the shot! i had it and had nothing but problems afterward. a friend of my mom was using it and she got a yeast infection on her arm. it screws up your menstraul cycle and causes all kinds of weird side affects. i would go on a pill like ortha tricaclyn or that yaz, i heard is good!
