The castes in Andhra Pradesh can be divided into two distinct categories. Brahmin, Komati, Reddy, Kamma, Velama, Kapu, Nayudu, Relli, Mala, Madiga, Yeraka, Yanadi etc., castes are based on their tribal, cultural and religious differences, while the castes like Chakali (washerman), Kummari (potter), Kammari (smith), Kamsali (goldsmith), Mangali (barber) etc are based on their duties. With a few exceptions like the Brahmin caste , all these castes are uniquely localized in Andhra Pradesh. Each caste has a deity and distinct social formalities. The interaction between various castes is difficult because of these religious, cultural and tribal considerations.
Today, all the castes (tribes) in Andhra Pradesh are categorized into four groups, viz., Forward Communities (FC), Backward Communities (BC), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Preferential quotas and reservations are established for BCs, SCs, and STs. The Constitution of India endorses and enforces such preferential discrimination. This system reinforces the old caste system, while broadly categorizing them into a new form. Here again like in Vedic Varnamu, any caste can be included into FC, BC, SC, or ST group if one attains a certain social stature. Even today the tribalism prevails and the social interactions such as marriage and festivals are influenced by caste. Inter-caste/religious social intercourse is still not accepted. One can see the power of caste/tribe over the society clearly even in politics.
De-recognition of importance of caste in every aspect of life may be difficult to achieve. The equality clause in the modern Indian Union constitution to protect various groups from discrimination and repression is a positive step. But, affirmative action and quotas in the jobs and education based on group identity is counterproductive. This short-term prescription to solve the problem automatically became a long-term policy of appeasement that created vote banks strengthening the divisions in the society, leading to an irreversible process of balkanization of the society. Migration from rural areas to urban cosmopolitan cities and college education might help get rid of some of the social barriers, encouraging the inter-caste/religious/tribal marriages and social intercourse.

shall we get genuine right here. this isn't about the people wanting separation, it really is about the UPA authorities wanting to have more advantageous administration over the MPs from the state. Having a sturdy contingent of 40 and having a pacesetter like YSR has made them a rigidity to reckon with. And Ms. Gandhi surely doesn't like being compelled to make judgements. So after YSR's death, it really is a planned approach to split the ranks of the MPs from the state and get rid of ability from them. it truly is the reason a social gathering guy like Rosiah replaced into picked as chief Minister over teen and conventional selection like Y.S.Jagan. So do not even for a 2d be fooled into questioning that KCR is the reason behind the Telengana selection. he's only a pawn, the actual reason is the flexibility the MPs of this state are wielding on the middle it extremely is making 'madam' pretty unhappy. If Telengana is separated regardless of each of the competition, then we can see a revolt from the people of the different areas. it really is in person-friendly words the politicians and so called intellectuals who're talking about separate more advantageous Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra, no longer the scholars and elementary those who're in person-friendly words inquiring for unified Andhra. there is likely going to be a revolt right here from the people of different areas in Hyderabad. Even formerly the separation of Telengana, the people right here staying of their capital city are being termed 'settlers' and being threatened. How do you imagine the placement should be even as there's a separate state and Hyderabad is area of Telengana? The congress had obviously no longer reckoned on having to face the ire of elementary people, they must have concept the social gathering MLA's and MP's should be very really managed. nicely it really is a lesson for Ms.Gandhi, in democracy. next time, she ought to favor to hearken to all activities targeted on the previous taking a call, because this isn't a fascist sate and he or she really won't be able to make judgements depending in person-friendly words on her whims and fancies and the political pastimes of a few vested pastimes and persons.
