I saw him play in person and I still say keep him out. His latest lie about betting on the Reds on every game seals it. There is clear evidence he bet on every game EXCEPT those pitched by Gullickson and Soto. Was that a tip, inadvertantly or not, to other gamblers? Did Rose juggle his lineups or use his best relievers when he had money on the game? No HOF for Rose.

I saw him play only on TV. He was a battler and a great player. He played with heart and every game for all it was worh. That is what makes this so sad. Does he belong in the Hall of Fame with what he did on the field.Yes !
However he broke one of baseballs biggest rules. He knew he did. He lied and fought it. He got banned from the game. Now he wants to get in the Hall by telling the truth. Sorry you did not follow the rules. Should he ever be elected into the Hall? ABSOULUTLY NOT EVER.

I saw him play when I was age 6 (1980, when I started watching baseball) until he retired. The HOF question can be answered only when you answer this question: Does a person's off-field activity have relevance when determining candidates for the HOF? If yes, then he can never be in. If no, then he must be in. I personally believe he should be in, because of what he did on the field. This is tough though, because betting on baseball is probably the greates crime against the sport, even worse than steroids.

I saw him play. I think if the HOF is about baseball then let him in. If it's about character; we need to remove Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Satchel Paige, and many others. If it's about character there sould be a lifetime ban against Dwight Goodin, Darrel Strawberry, Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, Jose Conseco and Rocker.
I agree it was wrong for Pete Rose to bet on baseball. But, the HOF is about honoring him for his talent as a player. Not making moral judgements about his character.

I saw Pete play and the guy played hard-nose ole fashioned Hard-Ball.He gave everything he had every time he crossed the lines. And yes I'm one of the few that think he belongs in the HOF but won't get there until hes gone.Which is OK with me,the guy broke the rules and is paying for it everyday for the rest of his life.

If they are for him to be in the hall and they didn't see him play that is a plus for him. I saw him play and he should be in the hall of fame.

I saw him play and manage.
I saw him get number 4,190 against Eric Show live and was so happy for him.
I was also equally disappointed when I heard he gambled on the game.
