I stay at home with the kids too. Whenever I talk about getting a job my husband talks me out of it. I just get bored sometimes - we don't really need the extra money - but he brings up all the expenses that come with me working too and he is right because it would cost more money for me to work than I would make. We live in a small town and the good jobs are too far away so when you add it all up I am saving money by staying home. Plus the kids appreciate having me here. I worked when my oldest were toddlers and I missed out on a lot. I am home with my 2 year old all day and home when the older ones get out of school. I wouldnt trade it for the world.

No your not the only one. It's hard to do that especially if you don't have the income to stay at home. I stayed home until my youngest of three turned 4yrs old. It was very hard because I had very low income. But I did teach them a lot while I was home. I even scheduled things in a "preschool" setup so that they could learn the basics. Give your self a pat on the back and applaud yourself. Being a mother whether you are at home and/or working. (Being a dad is too. There are some stay at home dads too.)., is the hardest job on earth. Best wishes to you and your family.:)

I also stay home with the kids. I been doing it for 4yrs and I think is time for me to get out of the house. My baby boy is going to start school and I'll be all alone at home. But at the moment you are not the only one.

You aren't the only one. LOL. I stay home too. I have an 11 year old who thankfully is in school and I have a 12 week old daughter. I often challenge my husband to stay home cause being home all day can and will drive you mad!!

Actually in my neighborhood there are 29 homes in my subdivision, and less than half have working mothers. The rest have full time stay at home moms or moms who only work part time. I was able to stay home with my first two children, but by the time the third came along I had returned to work and we couldn't afford for me to return to being a stay at home mom.

no you're not the only one, all of my [Christian] friends are home with their kids. Newsflash; I was always at home and my hubby never made a lot of $, its all how you budget your $ and what you don't waste. In the early years I had no car, no phone and no cable, to stay home with my precious baby, while my husband finished college and worked 2 part time jobs. I walked everywhere but I'd rather do that than ever put him in the arms of a care-taker.

I'm sure you're not the only one. If you can afford to live that way, good for you! Nowadays it is hard to live off of just one income.
Once I have children, I have every intention of staying home with the kids until they start school (if we can do it financially).

Many women stay at home with their kids. You are NOT the only one. And there are so many things for mothers and young children to do with groups and stuff. Start with your library. I have stay at home friends that go with their young kids and then meet other stay at home moms, then they form walk groups, etc.

you are lucky, I didn't marry someone where I had the option to stay home with the kids; but, I was lucky that when we ended up divorced it was only a few more years before I was able to work from home which was a godsend; teenagers need way more supervision than toddlers!

oh and my kids, even though I work, have turned out to be well-mannered, compassionate young adults; it's the parents not whether you stay home or not.

I am a stay at home mom. I have 2 teenagers and a 4 year old. I wouldn't have it any other way. I do look forward to going back to work when my baby is in school!
