1. A schooner is a type of sailing ship with large sails. Conestoga wagons had large cloth tarps which resembled sails.

2. Most were farmers, so to find some land and plant crops. Some were miners searching for gold or other valuable minerals. Regardless, the first goal was basic survival: so finding sources for food and water.

5. Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and 31 other persons comprised the “Permanent Party” of the 1804-1806 Lewis and Clark Expedition

1. Schooners were a type of boat and the white covers of the wagons looked like the sails of the boats.
2. depends on the pioneer. Possibly money, land farming, new life, it could be almost any reason.
7. The Oregon Trail is the most popular.

It amazes me how young people want everyone else to do their homework for them. When I have schoolwork for my current masters degree program, I choose to do the reading, take notes and answer the questions myself.

You will retain the information a lot longer if you do so.

Do you know what famous breed of dog made the trip with Lewis and Clark?
