be very careful with lucid dreams hun. My boyfriend has them from time to time and on occasions he can get so wrapped up in them that he doesn't know where the dream ends and reality starts and has been known to have hallucinations when he is awake. And yes you can that is when the hallucinations can start i would advise you look at these sites and read up on them.

Lucid dreams occur during REM sleep after the person becomes conscious and aware of dreaming within the dream.

(lucid from Latin, lux "light") is the conscious perception of one's state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer experience and sometimes enabling direct control over the content of the dream, a realistic world that is to some degree in the control of the dreamer.[1] The complete experience from start to finish is called a lucid dream. Stephen LaBerge, a popular author and experimenter on the subject, has defined it as "dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming."[2]

LaBerge and his associates have called people who purposely explore the possibilities of lucid dreaming oneironauts (literally from the Greek ονειροναύτες, meaning "dream sailors").

The validity of lucid dreaming as a scientifically verified phenomenon is well-established.[3][4] Researchers such as Allan Hobson with his neurophysiological approach to dreaming have helped to push the understanding of lucid dreaming into a less speculative realm.

Have some fun with the dreams! Check out the movie "Waking Life" for some fun takes on lucid dreaming...

I don't really know what it means. BUT I LOVE IT. I've been having lucid dreams for aslong as I can remember. I can control myself and make things pop up. For example if I want a certain person to be there they just pop up right next to me. I love it. I don't know how to make myself have a dream though D= It really sucks. Oh and I know how to wake myself up too if I'm having a nightmare. xD Sweet, eh?

cool -- I used to be able to do that -- try spinning in your lucid dream if it starts to end to early -- it seems to help prolong them -- http://www.dreamviews.com/stayinglucid.php
