I found out at 13 weeks and 5 days which is quite early and my question to the doctor was "How can you tell, I thought you couldn't until around week 20" The answer I received and later read up on is the fact the the fetus' genetalia is developed by week 12. At that stage they are distinguishable as male or female. The scrotum has not dropped that early however but it is easier to tell male than female earlier in the pregnancy. It is a better view closer to weeks 18-20 but that is not the earliest it can be known
I am having a little boy and have a ultrasound picture with an obvious penis before I was 14 weeks along.

Most women find out around 18 to 22 weeks. I found out at 14 weeks though. I had the stomach flu and while I was at the Emergency Room they performed an ultrasound to make sure that the baby was okay since I had been vomiting violently for 30 hours. It was very easy to see his penis. They told me that if I were having a girl, that they wouldn't have been able to tell so soon.

Your baby has its genitalia at 12 weeks, although 2d ultrasounds cannot pick it up this early just yet...With my first pregnancy i found out the sex at 20 weeks. With my second i found out at 14 1/2 weeks and with this one i found out at 19 weeks..Doctors like to wait until u are at least 16 weeks to get a good idea and be pretty accurate...If u have an u/s at 14-15 weeks though sometimes u can find out then...it depends also on how the baby is laying...but just to be on the safe side,,16-18 weeks will give u a good read...good luck!

The standard is 20 weeks (5 months) some can find out a few weeks sooner though depending if they get a good look. But typically everyone will say 20 weeks.

I found out during my 13 week ultrisound. Depends on the place you go to. I went to a place that had the 3D 4D technology, so they can tell a lot sooner!! Although they DO warn you at this stage they are only 90% accurate and not to paint your nursery till your 18 week apt. But they confirmed they were correct at my 18 week apt!!

It can be found out at 16 weeks at the earliest, but it is more accurate at around 20 weeks.

I think I found out at 16 weeks. Just goes to show how quickly details are forgotten. I just had my daughter a year ago!
