My first pregnancy, I never saw it! My second one, I lost it about four weeks prior to labor, and it was one big ... thing. The third one, I lost just a little over a period of time, so I would say it's perfectly normal.

I'm also 37 weeks (CONGRATS... We're ALMOST to the finish line!!) I have been loosing a little bit here and there for the past two weeks. I asked my dr about it and she said once you start to dilate you start to loose it but your body has the ability to reform it? I never heard that before, but who am i to argue with the dr! So yes, you can loose it over time and unfortunately, i don't think it means you'll have the baby tomorrow. It just means you are dilating. Good luck!

With my first two, I never saw it, I will have to see with this one. It sounds right though. The mucous plug is just that mucous, it isn't a cork, there is no reason to assume that it will be shed all at once. Congrats, baby's coming soon now!

Yes of course it is and trust me i talk from experience. When i was about 39 weeks pregnant from my first son i went to my prenatal visit and they did what my doctor called irritating the cervix to jump start labor. After that my doctor said that i was probably going to see heavy or mucousy discharge and not to alarm myself but that was completely normal. So after that i did start noticing the discharge and it didn't come in one day it was ongoing for like about three or four days then my water broke then my son was born. So i would not fret about this or be nervous is just your body's way of saying you are going to meet your beautiful baby soon! congratulations and good luck!
