Go online to the company website. Look under "Investor Information" if the company is pbulic. That will give you financial reports, earnings, share price, etc.

If the company is privately held it's a little trickier. Ask around to see if you have any friends who work for the company, or who worked there in the past and might still have contacts. Look in the local paper for articles featuring the company. See if they sponsor any local events/charities.

Whatever company it is that you are hiring for, do research. If you don't love the company or don't know what the company stands for then chacnes are slim. good luck.
