Cute way to question.
We can see your a very creative person. This is in your favor on decorating his/her room.
Most people do the green and yellow thing when they do not know for the nursery. But your creative you can add the colors you want. Blue and pink can be added to a boys or girls room. Now days Black and white colors have shown to stimulate a babies mind. Checker boards on the walls to just one item. You can have a great time deciding.
As for clothing just buy the standards. www.babycenter.com has a list of what all newborns need. After the birth go wild with the clothing you like.

Painting yellow or green - or any color - limits you and/or makes more work for you down the line. Sticking to off-white will make the room neutral for easily adding accessories and decor as you go. Get the basics in matching tones (like all the same wood color or white) and don't worry about what the room looks like for a while. Add things as it comes along...
Oh, you and your significant other can go shopping for some things like a border, the bedding, and a few accessories then see how much it costs. You can set the money aside and your girlfriends can use it to pick up and hang the border, dress the crib, and get the room ready for the 3 of you while you're in the hospital!
Family will know that no one knows the gender, so they'd prolly come to the hospital or visiting in the weeks after bearing gifts of pink or blue instead of Uhh, what do I get the people that have everything??
Remember: The baby isn't gonna come out, get home, stand there with tiny little fists on hips, look at you and say, "You know Ma, this is really dissappointing. I know you did that whole 'making me' thing, but a little effort... really."
lol, it's OK - you're not having Stewie Griffin! Everything that you really need or can plan ahead in advance can be had in white or neutral tones - like onesies, socks, diapers, car seat and stroller. Oh, and skip getting a diaper bag - get yourself a bigger pocket book now and get used to it. All you need to do is keep your stuff in a purse and add a handful of diapers, an extra outfit, a to-go pack of wipes and a few side things that you'd add. Put everything in gallon size zip-loc bags for organization AND the bags can be used as a containment unit for an exploded diaper or puked on outfit.

Use pastel greens and yellows, no theme in paticular add that later. Just get the furniture that you want, and paint the walls a real light mint green or yellow and then add in blues, pinks or purples later. I would also just save the money you would normally spend, get just the basics and then you can go out after the baby is born and buy all the other stuff. Also they have bassinets and baskets at Wal-Mart that come with blue and pink ribbons, so you can add the correct color later, but still have your baskets and a bassinet for when the baby comes home. Good luck

my good friend and I are both pregnant and did our nurseries in the same manner. We painted each wall a different pastel color. 1 pink, 1 yellow, 1 green and 1 blue. The nurseries turned out beautiful and leaves no room for error!

You could start w/ yellow or light green walls. Wait for baby to be born and accessorize w/ the colors and items you want then. Really pink, lilac/purple or blues will go with eaither color wall.

There are so many neat baby nursery items. No longer are you stuck with pink, blue, or yellow. Brown/Blue/Cream are neutral, primary colors, greens are nice.

We don't know for ours either. We did a bluish-purple, which can work for a boy or a girl!
