I see nothing wrong with this at all I'm 22 year old man dating a 40 year old man. You see the thing is, are their personalities compatible? Do they get along? Do they make each other happy. If you can yes to these questions, then age really shouldn't be a problem. We sometimes have a maturity issue. A lot of times I handle situations differently than he does. But so long as we both keep an open mind and listen to one another, we can work through it. I think both people have to take into considerations each others age. Before the couple get involved with one another I think that should understand that there are going to be age problems. Life experiences come with time. When a person has experienced more than another person than the person with more experience with that particular situation should teach the other how to handle it. It's just a lot of trade offs and patience. But when the couple start working together despite their age difference they will be a loving, working machine.

In either case, if the couple is capable of looking past the 17 year void between their life experiences then while being consenting adults they should be left alone. Although, a 17 year difference in age can cause some rather serious disharmony typically due to the inexperience of the younger party.

Age is nothing but a number - how the people treat one another is the only important thing to me. My husband is 16 years older than me!

my wife is 12 years older than me. we've been married 18 years, age has never been an issue for us. it only comes up when we disagree on selecting of music. it is only an issue when you make age your focus, so if you can get over your own preconceived notions, you could find yourself in very exciting and rewarding relationship.

I think it is wrong, 17 years is way too much, but around 7-10 is ok, but getting close to wrong.

Well, they are both of age and thus legal. However, when someone is older they could be less tolerant of human phases of a younger person.
