I used to watch it when I was little. It was a children's movie. The story was something about these twins (a girl and boy) who got seperated when they were younger and they had some sort of power. I remember one part of the movie right before they got separtated they were sitting in the back of a truck and they put their hands together and a light went up to the sky from their hands...like a string of light. What was that movie called?

Escape to Witch Mountain (1975)
Tia (Kim Richards) and Tony (Ike Eisenmann) are two orphaned youngsters with extraordinary powers. Lucas Deranian (Donald Pleasence) poses as their uncle in order to get the kids into the clutches of Deranian's megalomaniacal boss, evil millionaire Aristotle Bolt (Ray Milland), who wants to exploit them. Jason (Eddie Albert), a cynical widower, helps Tia and Tony "escape to witch mountain," while at the same time Tia and Tony help Jason escape the pain of the loss of his wife

A sequel was made in 1978, titled Return from Witch Mountain, starring Bette Davis and Christopher Lee. Author Alexander Key had nothing to do with this film, though he did write a second novel based on the film's screenplay. The plot concerns Tony and Tia dropped off at Pasadena's Rose bowl Stadium for a vacation amongst humans. Their trip is interrupted by a vision of a falling man. Tony leaves Tia in their taxi while he goes to investigate, and ultimately saves the man's life. His intervention is witnessed by an evil scientist, who kidnaps him and uses drugs and a mind-control device to make Tony his slave for a robbery heist. Tia befriends a Disneyfied pre-teen LA "gang" whose members help her search for Tony. In the end, Tia must free Tony and prevent both a major gold robbery and a nuclear power plant incident.

A made-for-TV sequel called Beyond Witch Mountain was made in 1982, and was intended to be the pilot for a TV series based on Escape To Witch Mountain, which never materialized.

Sounds like Escape from Witch Mountain, which was a Disney movie and came out in 1975. IMDB link below ...

If it helps jog your memory ... one feature of the movie was that the boy (Tony) had to play a harmonica in order to use his powers.

A few years later, they made a sequel, called Return from Witch Mountain.

It sounds like "Escape to Witch Mountain." I used to watch that one when I was younger. I also asked a couple people at my work and they agreed with me. The sequel is called "Return to Witch Mountain."
