Not a whole lot. If you look at this last Oscars, most movies nominated were released close to the deadline, The Departed, Dreamgirls, The Queen. Movies that were contenders early in the year were forgotten.
If anything, it may get some visual effects. I think that it will be looked at as senseless violence. I can't believe Sin City didn't get anything, so this may not either.

I would bet "300" would be nominated in at least 2 categories - costumes and special effects, but with all of the other movies coming out this year it might be extremely difficult to win.
I believe "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Spiderman-3" will be the biggest competition to "300" in those categories.

I loved the flick, but it really only has Oscar chances in the technical categories (sound mixing/editing, make-up, maybe a score nomination). I really don't see it getting a Best Picture nomination, and the performances (while good) aren't substantive enough to get nominations.

the only oscars it really has a shot at are cinematography, maybe best costume design, visual effects, maybe sound editing or sound mixing.
it won't get a best picture nom, altho it will probably deserve one.

Maybe a few in digital effects, but none in anything else. It doesn't deserve to win anything. What a hype machine that was.
