On May 17, 2005, 8 Simple Rules was officially cancelled by ABC.

It still shows on ABC1 but i think they stopped it because everyone is getting to old....it was a bout 2 parents with teenagers n now it wood be about 1 parent 3 adult children a manslut cousin and a wierd grandpa.

all the series that were made have been shown a abc1 in the uk......they are all repeats................
when the dad died, they put in james garner as the grampa and david spade (from just shoot me) as a cousin or something, i never really figured out why he was there.....
so yeahm, it eneded ages ago,
i wish they'd put new stuff on abc1 over here in the uk, im fed up with thye same repeats ober and over again.....arnt u?

It went on for about a year after John Ritter died...they replaced him with James Garner and David Spade. But it wasn't the same, and finally got cancelled.

I think it just wasn't the same after John Ritter died. They stopped it because he just couldn't be replaced. It was a really good show. I wish it didn't end.

it stopped because John Ritter died and they just couldnt carry on! i didnt even know he died until a week ago when i looked at wikipedia! such a shame coz i loved that show and thought he was great! RIP dude!

i actually enjoy the show so sad that is is now ended I dont think we in uk have seen the finel series yet.

i dont know where you live, but here in the US, they stopped taping shows after john ridder died. Then it was cancelled.
bummer... i kinda liked the show
