common misconception, but just like the abortion questions, people won't read past the words GLOBAL WARMING, and will just offer talking head points of how they do or do not support the evidence. So good luck!

YES! Ok, here is what people don't understand. Global warming is natural. *SHOCK* Did you know that in biblical times, Iraq and Iran were tropical paradises? Now they are desert and it has nothing to do with cars! We didn't have cars back then, or when the Grand Canyon dried up. Hm... You know why people are making a big deal over global warming (Libs always need a crisis!) Because global warming = funding for scientists, so they act like its some huge thing SO THAT THEY CAN GET MONEY! Ugh is sick that everything is about money but it is! Humans maybe affected global warming a whole .08%, that is NOTHING PPL! When Mt. St. Helens volcano errupted, it put out more carbon dioxide and CFC's into the air then all of man kind COMBINED! Oh snap. People are just gullable.

Everything Al Gore says about global warming is extremely twisted. The earth has a natural warming and a natural cooling. Scientists are saying that the ice caps are melting, but NASA just put out an article saying the the ice caps on Mars are also melting. Are humans on earth also polluting Mars? I don't think so. An article from the UN says that it does more harm to eat a cow or chicken than it is to run your SUV. However humans do need to be careful with the environment but New York City and New Orleans WILL NOT be underwater in 50 years. The Slight temperature increase is do to a really big solar flare.

Because Global Warming as Al Gore preaches it is just a myth. Natural Global Warming and Cooling for that matter have always existed. Although we do have a responsibility as stewards of the earth to protect it, the co2 that's doing the warming is not from humans.
Ask Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen about "Global Warming", they just ended their expedition that was to bring awareness to "Global Warming" because of the cold. Ironic!

There is only a false misunderstanding due to the ignorant portion of society that does not read and weigh the evidence. These are the same people who won't see "An Inconvenient Truth" because a "liberal" made it, as if nature herself has a political bias. Here endeth the lesson.

Very nice ending to your comments. "Do you want them to 'stop global warming'"
Frankly, "everyone knows" that the warming of the planet is man caused.
I do no believe that. The biggest contributing factor that is said to point to mans culpability in the matter is the dramatic increases in CO,2 in our global atmosphere.
Did you know that if our total atmosphere was likened to a football field (an analogy most anyone can follow), that the part that CO,2 takes up in the 100 YARDS is only about 1 inch? And that the total amount of increased CO,2 over the last 50 years would be a total of only about 3/8 ths of an inch?
Yes, taken out of context the level of increase of CO,2 in our total atmosphere can be presented in alarming ways, ways designed to alarm. And I guess you would have to agree that it is a lot. But as a percentage of our whole atmosphere, it really doesn't amount to much at all.
Also, did you know that the total weight of termites on this planet is more than the total weight of humans on the planet? Yah yah you say, so what? Ever wonder how much methane termites produce in our environment? Methane is a far more toxic component of "green house" gases than CO,2.
Also, COWs produce more "greenhouse" gases than humans do in the US.
Volcanos produce more sulpher and CO,2 than humans do.
Increases in solar output has caused more release of CO,2 from ocean evaporation than humans produce.
I just cannot ascribe TOTAL LIABILITY for the warming trend our planet is experiencing to man caused issues. Sorry, it just doesn't add up.
I do not believe that anyone knows how to manage our environment without causing more damage from the management than if we just completely left things alone.
Our air is cleaner than it was a decade ago. Our water is cleaner than it was a decade ago.
People exhort me to "look at all the pollution" all around us. I look. And look. And look. Yes I see some, but I've seen it worse. What I see mostly when I look around (and I am a fisherman that gets out into nature very often) is clean air, clean water, healthy wildlife in huge variety and quantity. Some of the best fishing and healthiest fish I ever saw was at the discharge of power plants (that burned coal to generate electricity)
Let's be clear here. I love nature and I love our environment and I agree to REASONABLE actions taken to ensure that it CONTINUES to improve.
But I do not agree that people with agendas that propose repressive regulations by generating media emotionality centered around global warming should be allowed to get away with it. And that goes for "sudden climate change" too.
There, I have tried to be clear, state facts and not call anyone bad names. What do you think?

It depends on how much of a role human activity plays in global warming. If human activity is relatively insignificant, but we cause a world-wide economic recession by applying stringent measures to combat it, many poor will die as they always do in recessions due to poorer health care, lowered nutrition and all the other factors that they are subject to. Is cutting CO2 emissions that important is what we have to understand. Core samples from Antarctica suggest that CO2 increase follows warming by at least 100 years, which would seem to contradict the claim that CO2 causes the warming.

There is lots of misconceptions about it.
#1 being we don't know enough about what we are talking about.
#2 it is not come out that both sides of this debate have ties to money which kind of stains their stance.
#3 The first guy who made the claim is now backing away from it.
Are we in a warming trend now... I think so
Is it man- made .... that is in doubt.
When Al Gore said the debate is over there isn't a man of science worth their weight that says debate is over on any subject.
Few years ago they were talking global cooling....
We do need to learn more before we jump off the cliff.

I agree. We should be trying to stop our acceleration of global warming. The truth is, scientists don't know enough about longterm global climate change to really say exactly how much damage we are doing, but I think it is obvious that we are doing something. Why take the chance that we are going to irrevocably damage the earth? Esp. when so many of the things we can do to slow global warming are good for us as well. I really hope that the politicians will figure this out and stop stonewalling before it is too late.

I have no idea if we are really speeding up global warming.
But, all the things they are saying should be done to limit our impact on global warming are things that we should be doing anyway. We are going to run out of fossil fuels in the future. We don't have adequate ways of safely storing nuclear waste. We are consuming too much for our planet to sustain for much longer.
We have to make major changes or we are dooming our children and grandchildren.

Global warming is unquestionably happening. There is some discussion on whether human activity is helping it along and no meaningful plan to alter said human activity.
Kyoto was nowhere near enough.
We need a plan on how to handle 100s of millions of people who can no longer live in the places that their forefathers have called home for millenium. Imagine the Sahara taking over Spain and Italy. Imagine Texas and Arizona becoming completely desert.
Dont bother imagining - its already in process.
