This may sound weird, but I knew I was pregnant since late november/early dec. Even though I had a positive pregnancy test at home, the one at the Dr.'s in Jan. was negative. Yesterday, I went to a different Dr. who decided instead of taking tests she would use a doppler and sure enough there was a heartbeat of 160. Judging by my last period, they put me right at 19 weeks. Meaning I'm almost five months and didn't even know this whole time! What I'm wondering is what to expect at the 20 week scan, and is there anyway that the Dr. was wrong and and I'm not that far along? Even though I look it. LOL.

Going by your last period can be inaccurate since some women bleed early in pregnancy. A scan will be more accurate so don't be surprised if they adjust your dates a little. If you haven't had your medical history done, they will do it next visit. They will also go over any testing that they recommend and schedule that. If you are at 19 weeks, you are half way there. Good Luck.

At the 19 week ultrasound, you can probably find out what the sex is if you want. They'll take the measurements of the baby and re-evaluate your date. You should be able to feel "flutters" in your tummy by now and soon kicking. Good luck!

Yes, there is a possibility.
The most accurate way to determine age of the fetus is by an early ultrasound (8 weeks or so). The earlier the u/s, the more accurate the age of your fetus is.

If she measured the height of your uterus and it correlates with how far you would be from your last period then it should be pretty accurate. Plus when you get your ultrasound that will give a due date. It should be pretty close to the one they already gave you.
