You can try to elevate your buttocks for 20 min or so after sex. However, if you are having intercourse when you are fertile (have fertile cervical fluid), getting up to go to the bathroom shouldn't have an effect on conception. When there is fertile cervical fluid present, the semen stays in the body for a long time, even if you get up. If there is no or not enough fertile CF present, the semen tends to come out right away (especially if you stand up).
If you are not already, I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. It may only be a matter of timing your intercourse to YOUR ACTUAL fertile time (not one based on a Day Counting method). There are many issues w/ the woman's cycle which can delay conception or cause difficulty carrying a pregnancy. These issues can often be detected at home and resolved at home too.
Some sources for charting your fertility: The books The Art of Natural Family Planning and Taking CHarge of Your Fertility. The websites CCLI.org, Ovusoft.com, and Fertilityfriend.com

No. It definitely would not. If you have tried for a long period already without success, both you & your husband should consult a doctor. There are many factors other than that the 2 of you are health & in child bearing age. Unless the cause is treated or removed, however you make love wouldn't result in getting pregnant..

I can't quite understand why people have been nasty to you in some of the answers you have recieved, It's definately not going to the toilet thats having any affect on you not getting pregnant but if you try to hard it never happens, we were trying for a baby for such a long time but then i had 2 miscarriages and some one said to me stop trying and it was the best advice ever because we just said right thats it if it happens it happens and it did straight away it's not gonna happen with you being so stressed and wanting it to happen just calm down take it easy and it will happen
Best of luck xx

I would relaxis and breath. Try and learn your ovoltion cycle and go on from there. And if you really want to get pregnant try laying on your back with an pillow under you lower back for like 10 mins after your man comes!
Good luck ooohhh and talk to your doctor!!!!

I have heard that it is best to wait to go to the restroom for at least 15 minutes. If you want to increase your chances lay with a pillow under your hips for at least 15 minutes to aid the sperm in their travel up...standing up causes leakage. Another thing you could try is missionary position or doggy it is the best way to help the sperm get where they need to go! Anyways, I hope that helps :-)

Ok- some ppl are writing you some very rude answers....
I know that is a ridiculous concept- but not a dumb questions...
I have heard that SO many times... that if you go to the bathroom after sex you cannot get prgnant! it is ludacris... but not dumb of you to want to know if there is any truth to that! Good luck with the pregnancy and just relax and enjoy the baby making process:)

No that has nothing to do with it. Actually going to the bathroom after having sex is good for you. It helps from getting infections down there. My advice to you is after you have your period start having sex immediatley and i mean as soon as your off your period. That helped with me. It didn't take me long to get pregnant.

I know people are giving you grief for asking such a question, but I asked my dr. the same thing when I was trying to conceive. B/c we tried for 2 years before getting pregnant and I tried to make sure that I wasn't shooting myself in the foot by using the bathroom after sex. No, it will not prevent you from getting pregnant. Just make sure your cycles are regular, track them if you need to, relax and don't stress (which seems impossible, I know). It will happen when you least expect it to. We stopped trying, put our house up for sale, moved in with a relative and then got pregnant. See, when you least expect it.

Go to the loo before you have intercourse, then (after intercourse) lay flat on your back and raise your knees. This will tilt you back. Lay like this for 20 mins or so, then lay as usual. Allow yourself to fall asleep. If you truley need the loo, you will wake up. I was like you, but got into this habbit now. I wish you luck.
