Statistically. A resounding yes. Most people born poor, will live out their lives and die poor.

Hard work and determination alone will not lift you out of the poor house and into the good life. That's a ******** thing to say. You think all the poor people out their busting their asses everyday aren't working hard enough? Give me a break. They work harder then anybody. The truth is that this country is currently structured to make the rich richer and keep the poor busting their humps for minimum wage. This is no magical land of opportunity.

For the most part, yes. Most children remain in the social class they were born into their entire lives, although a few will either move up or down.

I child who is born into a poor family is going to receive relatively low-quality education and fewer opportunities to become successful than a child who is born into a rich family. Some people don't understand just how disadvantaged the poor are, I can think of a few public high schools where the education is so poor that their diploma is absolutely worthless; many of their graduates have the literacy skills of a nine year old, not because they are poor, but because they were never taught any differently.

I can say that many people born poor are not destined to become or "remain" poor as adults, but their environment plays a huge part in their development. They will either accept their poverty or reject it. If you look at most success stories, they come from people who were poor like OPRAH, and rejected acceptance of that reality, and changed to become rich. I think there is a fifty fifty chance that poor people will or will not remain poor as adults. Hope this makes sense.

No one is destined to be anything. There are many factors as to how the child can break from a cycle.
It just depends on the family environment. Most parents want their kids to do more than what they have done. They have bigger dreams for their kids and in doing so, educate the children (something they may never had had the opportunity to do). Some parents tell their kids, hey, nothing wrong with my life, be like me. Unfortunately, some kids fall into that ploy. It all depends on the parents.

It depends on the country.Unfortunately in Africa poor people have no opportunities, mainly because the West isn´t doing anything to help them. In other countries they might sometimes choose to remain poor, but those are exceptions. In our world very few people actually want to stay poor(I mean really poor, no state handouts or welfare programs). The ones who reamain poor usually have no opportunities to advance themselves.

no because your past does not determine your future. Prime example...the movie Pursuit of Happiness..the guy in this movie was poor, homeless, and probably has a similar childhood, however, he went for his dreams, and became a multi millionaire. I think people who are poor will more than likely work extra hard to make a great life for themselves because they do not want to continue to have the same struggles they faced when they were younger.

Clearly alot does rest upon social class and demographics but we are all given the same chance at life and there have been people born into unbelievable poverty who have gone on to become some of the richest people ever. With the same drive, dreams, determination, self belief and effort we are all born with you can further yourself like you never imagined, you just got to want it bad enough.

ask that same question

So I believe that the environment you grow up in is deeply embedded in your subconscious and you can change it however most people are too lazy to do the work it Takes

Your mind is like a garden if left unattended it will grow wild with weeds

your are what you think

and if you have a LACK mentality then you will see a world of lack

Some have seen generations of people who collect state assistance and feel entitled to it or that it's okay to live in poverty because that's all they have ever seen The responsibility is on the parents for not making sure their children grow up to be better than they are.

no.... I was born into a poor family... and we have been very blessed by God and would not be considered 'poor' at this time... I think we can use the gifts God gives us to excel at life... or we can choose to wallow in the pit we are born into thinking that there is no hope... I chose God.. and I chose more for life than what I came from
