I tried to get some of my friends (the ones who listen to rap and punk) to listen to pink floyd the song comfortably numb one said it was very deep and asked for the cd one of them said it was stupid and another laughed about it. Besides that one the other two did not even listen to the whole song. What is with people and having short attention spans or not enjoying a long drawn out deep emotional song.

Rap's the thing now. Unless our parents put us to sleep on Meddle and Magical Mystery Tour since we were a month old, we're doomed. Nothing that anyone can do about it.

I was saved.

Your friend there must have been a late one, but saved nonetheless.

I quite enjoy listening to Pink Floyd (that's what drew me to your question). I can listen to Echoes for hours, same with the AHM Suite. I love listening to Meddle a lot- I'll listen to it over and over again, too, if I don't just pick out Echoes ;D Probably the only album of Pink Floyd's that I regret buying is The Final Cut. I hated the Roger Whine in large amounts before, now I despise it.

By the way, fourteen years old.

I also enjoy some orchestral/choral music. The sound of the human voice is a beautiful thing sometimes.

Your friends are the problem with the whole music industry today. Short attention span and all about image. Quality music with a message does not get air play on MTV, and that is where 90% of people get their idea of music. Since image is more important than content, content suffers and beautiful music with a message is hard to find. It is out there, but the big labels do not release it.

The record companies want to know why people are not buying music, the answer is right in front of them. If they provided a quality product with real musicians, and less of Lindsy Lohan and Britney Spears, then people would buy music. No one knows less about music than a record company executive. They are nothing but marketing people.

Personally, I don't like Pink Floyd either. They come on the radio and I usually turn the station. I am a rock fan. I just don't like them. So, they like another type of music. So what, they have their on opinions, and you don't agree. Good for you, and good for them. America is great, isn't it!

They obviously can't process quality music when they hear it. You should have slipped some acid in their drinks, then they'd have a TRUE appreciation of Floyd.

Simple. People watch to much TV, especially when they are children. It changes the way the brain processes information.

They obviously have different taste in music and aren't very open minded...I'll try almost anything at least once...
