Yes. If the office is down hill from your home, you could "coast" to work. If you lived on the ocean and took a boat, that may be considered "coasting" to work. Riding a train instead of driving could be considered "coasting". (In SoCal we have a train called "The Coaster"). So, why not coast to work?
PS: It might be uphill on the way home, but you can coast TO work.

Are we talking about on a bike? If so previous poster is correct... you'd be going uphill on your way home. Not a bad idea for exercise though.
In college, my first class was downhill... so i coasted to school, great because you don't want to work up a sweat right before you're in close quarters. And then i got my workout on the way home, right before i got in the shower!
If you're talking about a car... ummm. no, you've got to get started somehow.

If you lived at the top of the hill, and work was at the bottom of the hill, then sure!
I doubt I could coast on my 25 mile commute, though.

Yes if you live at the top of a mountain or hill, however you have to get back up that mountain or hill, and that's gonna use more gas then if you were driving on the same road without an incline.

If you live up on a hill then yes. It is not recommended since you have less control of the car and the brakes will wear out.
