I, personally, think it's hilarious whenever I hear about men starving themselves, because they are one of the main reasons why women have eating disorders in the first place. Does anyone else kill themselves laughing at men who have eating disorders, or self-esteem issues???

No cause it's not something to laugh about. The statement that men are the reason women have eating disorders is wrong.Women have eating disorders and men too because they simply listened to what a portion of society wants. Not what they want. Low self esteem and eating disorders are not something to laugh about. It is a serious problem in this country. It's sad that people take things like this so lightly. I guess it takes knowing someone or having one of your own children go through something like an eating disorder to respect what it can do to others.

Personally, I don't think eating disorders or self esteem issues are funny at all. No matter who is going through it. I'm sorry but all of womens issues are not caused by men unless those women have allowed themselves to be treated badly or stayed in a bad relationship. I think it's time we all took responsibility for ourselves. Men and women both are affected by the culture we live in and the pressure to be "perfect" in the eyes of others.

Actually men are not the main reason women have eating disorders. There's a more complex psychological background to any kind of disorder, including eating disorders. It isn't funny. And yes, men also have self-esteem issues as well as eating disorders (very common among ski-jumpers). They're not immune to those things nor are those things exclusively female problems. That would make women the weaker sex, and we all know that's not true!

It's not funny at all. Men are affected by eating disorders just as women are. And men aren't always the reason that women get eating disorders. If this was your friend would you laugh at them?

I am trying to see your idea of humor, but failing to see this as funny. It is not funny when women have eating disorders and it is not funny when men have them either.

Women put as much pressure on each other as they feel put on them by men. Women are just as much a part of women's eating disorders as men are.

Men develop eating disorders for the same reasons that women do. They either want to look a certain way and become obsessive about it or they were overweight and are now afraid of becoming so again.

Either way, I do not find this issue funny for either women or men.

Take care,
Troy

No actually I find it quite cruel that you are laughing. Do you hear yourself? Wow how inconsiderate can a person be? Men have problems just like women and as a human being we should be sympathetic not obnoxious.

No, it's really not funny. Do you laugh at the fact that women have eating disorders? That's horrible. You should be ashamed of yourself.

No. Eating disorders are a psychological condition, not brought on by public perception but by personal feelings of inadequateness.

It's never funny when someone has an illness. You need a reality check and learn why people --male/female-- have these diseases. A lot of times it stems from early childhood abuse --do you think that's funny too? Next time, you need to think about your question before you make a jackass of yourself!

Wow, you're just a real *****. I happen to be a male who used to have an eating disorder, and you obviously have no idea what it is like, or why it's done. Just please crawl under a rock and die. It seems like that's what most people on here want you to do anyway.
