My red-eared slider(who is maybe a year or two old now) keeps bobbing his head up and down and it may be just a habit he picked up, but i want to make sure he is okay...also, he points his neck out too and both of them keep their legs flipped up when they sleep...is that okay?

Head bobbing is a common behavior- it actually helps them breath. As long as it is not sneezing, has nasal discharge, or makes funny noises when it breathes, this is no big deal.

Sleeping sprawled out under the 'sun' on the basking site is also normal- they have a pose called Sun Worship where they reach their heads way back and spread their legs way out in warm light.

I have a male red-ear slider about the same age as yours. Mine also does this and I wouldn't worry. Mine also takes both front flippers and puts them up to his head and shakes them very quickly. Not sure what thats about but sounds like the same kind of behavior as yours. Probably some kind of mating dance.

They don't have hiccups.

I've heard of male turtles bobbing their heads when they are planning on mating with a female. Both of them will bob their heads after mating. Maybe you have a male and a female turtle.
