I've been at this job for about 7wks now as a Front Desk Recept. However my boss recently wanted to meet with me to tell me that when my 3 months are up he would like to give me a raise, he has figured that he wants me to be a long term employee&he noticed I am a key person to his medical practice.
So, of course I know this since I deal with almost everything in the office, not only front desk duties I do everything, check in-check out, data input, order office supplies, deal with their business lisence, etc fix any problems with their computers/printers, I've changed so many things in their office already so we now have an easier work flow, make sure that patients have things they need to have for the practice to get paid, changed some of their forms around the office so they are easier to read and understand, setting up different accounts for the office, some credentialing, take patients back and check vitals,in other words I am the receptionist/manager/administrator/medical assist.

Office manager....pay really varies depending on where you're located. Check salary.com to get some guidelines for your area.

I think you are being taken advantage of. How can you do front office duties to the best of your ability and also be responsible for patients vitals at the same time. Either you are running yourself crazy or there aren't many patients.

Office Manager would be one title and it depends on where you live for a salary. They have websites to generate estimated salaries.

One good thing -- if you didn't know -- at least you're getting exposure on how to do certain things.

What credentials do you bring to the table? If you are a skilled person in the med field....you need to start showing what you have..Otherwise go get some skills and expect salaries starting in the $25K-$40K range for starters.
