because that would be racist...just like my college has a large house that is the "Women's Center" but no "Mens Center" because if there was a men's center then it would be sexist...u see.....women are the minority and so it would be unfair to mistreat the minority group

i understand your the point you are trying to make, that there are so many things in america which have the specific goal of advancing a certain race ethnicity or gender.
and you feel that if there were such a thing for white males it is percieved as racist, so how can these things not be racist.
well here is my explanation.
these groups have in history been prejudiced againt, denied opportunities, and in some instances been persecuted for their minority status.
institutions such as a scholorship for hispanics, or affirmative action, while not 100% perfect are in place to help erase, or counter the effects this history has had on minorities.
these things essentailly try to level the playing field. and no, the playing field is net yet level, gender bias and racism still are around today. but even if racism and gender bias werent around today the playing field would still be uneven because in the past minorities have not had the same opportunities as white males.
think about it, if everything was equal why are minorities so underrepresented in politics, in corporate america etc. why are women still paid only 72 cents for every dollar a man is paid for the same job. this is why there are hispanic caucases in congress and why there are scholarships specifically for minorities, this is why college campuses have chicano/latino/hispanic/african american student unions.
it's not reverse racism, it's is an attempt to bring minorities up to the same level as the majority.

Ehh....pardon me for injecting a little fact into this discussion
but when people say things like 'why have only white men been president?'
The answer is because, to date, only white men have been nominated by their parties. Obama is a big deal because he is the first black man who seemingly has broad enough appeal to come close.
The reason most colleges are predominantly white is because the population is predominantly white - it's just simple arithmetic!
Also, the big unspoken problem with Affirmative Action is that it puts minority students into a situation that they are often unsuited for and uncomfortable with - the drop-out rate of minority students attending college is much higher than that of whites in terms of percentage.
As for orgs like the UNCF....give if you want, don't if you don't.
Race will always be dealt with two different sets of rules. It is an accepted hypocricy.
Sad but true.

Wow civil-war in answers again so what else is new?!
I suppose that everything whites/blacks do to get ahead is considered racist!!!!! Why do people buy white milk when they can but chocolate is that racist too? Your question is just an honest one not a racist one!!! I think that college funds should be directed to the needy regardless of age race or religion. But one thing is for sure America is founded on variety weather we except it or not so get over it people.
Thank you for being honest in your curiosity!!

Because its ok to have a blakc caucus, and have black college funds, hispanic college funds etc., but if you establish that for white people its immediately racist. Its called reverse racism. White people are no the minority in the US.

There should not be any funds based on race.... No Afro American, American Indian, Hispanic American, Hindu American or Trailer park American fund that is sponsored by the US government and paid by tax dollars. People need to understand that race preferential treatment only drive a wedge between people and doesn't help us to be "One Nation".

I get it, you're trying to say being politically correct is ridiculous. BUT, why do you care? If people want to give money to a specific college fund, they SHOULD BE ALLOWED to spend their money any way they want. If you want a scholarship as a minority, fins a school where the majority of people are not caucasian & apply there. I've had friends do that and get full rides as a minority student.
Anyway, if college funds are helping people go to college, why are we complaining?

the reason those communities were created, were because lots of those activities and different issues were white in person-friendly words. like you assert omit black American replaced into created because blacks ought to no longer compete in the omit us of a competition. The NAACP replaced into created because blacks in the 60's and formerly were treated as 2d type voters. the reason there are traditionally black college and universities and the united ***** college fund replaced into because in person-friendly words whites gained help for faculty and in person-friendly words whites ought to attend lots of the faculties in the U. S. pretty in the south. There fairly isn't a double time-honored with this it really is in person-friendly words people ignore why those communities were created because each thing else in that aspect and nonetheless now are created for whites in person-friendly words. even as i replaced into in college a collection of white scholars had to create a Caucasian club, the humorous element replaced into our approval team replaced into made from representatives from the different pupil unions and pupil authorities. lots of the pupil authorities reps were white even as the minority pupil unions communities were for sure no longer white. Make a lengthy tale short it failed with assistance from a million vote it replaced into licensed unanimously with assistance from the minorities on the board even if the whites voted it down.

Why worry about this? Join the Aryan Knights or something. I was a member of a catholic youth group. So what.
If you feel a pressing need to hang out with people who share a common bond with you, do so.
If not, get out of other people's business. Too many people are looking for problems where none exist.

Because being white is the status quo. Think about Affirmative Action was essentially white until we starting thinking about who we were employing. Why have all our presidents been white men? Why is it a big deal that Obama is running? What is the predominant population in college right now?
