If the Dr says its fine...don't worry about it...chances are the 30lbs that you gained are baby, and amniotic fluid...consider yuorself lucky that your body isn't all stretched out of shape.

I was like that with my first baby, gained 30 pounds and only looked about 6 months pregnet in my last month, I was worried too but the doctor said the baby was fine and so was my weight, I had a 7 lb 11 oz healthy baby girl. The reason I looked so small was simply the build of my body and i had a tipped uterus, which makes u carry ur child towards ur back (inward) rather than right out front. I am sure ur baby will be healthy too, be greatfull u dont get so big, my second i gained 40 pounds and had a bigger stomach, enjoy it while it lasts. GOOD LUCK!

I am also 9 months pregnant, and people are surprised to hear i am so far along. In fact, at the store the other day a clerk told me she didn't even realize i was pregnant! I have gained a total of 29 lbs, and my doctor is happy, and the baby is healthy. I am sure you are ok, especially since your doctor is happy with how you are doing. Good luck!

Hi Lakshmi,
Don't worry. Everyone's body is different during pregnancy, and some mothers really do look like they're in their 9th month, and others don't. If your doctor says that you're doing wonderfully, then trust your doctor :). If you really feel like you need a professional second opinion, you could perhaps ask another doctor.
In regards to the baby size, there are mothers who are six months pregnant and look like they're nine months, and there are mothers who are nine months pregnant and look like they're six months along. :) It is normal for bodies to respond differently.
Good luck, and congratulations with the baby!

if the doc says your fine I wouldn't worry. There are a few thing to take into account like if your tall, your belly won't show as much because you have a long torso. If you were plus size before pregnancy. I myself only gained 19 pounds through out my whole pregnancy and i went on to deliver a healthy 6pound 4ounce, 19inch baby girl and I was only 112pounds before birth. so don't worry. your baby is fine and will be perfectly healthy.
congratulations

my doctor told me the same thing. i'm measuring about 3 or so cm behind everyone else. i'm 37 weeks but i measure at about 34 or 35. the baby is also growing strangely...his head is 37 weeks, his upper body is 36 weeks and his legs and lower half are measuring at 35 weeks. his estimated weight is 5 lbs 3 or 4 oz now, but if i stay pregnant until my due date, then he'll probably be about 6 1/2 lbs. don't worry, if your doctor says you're doing fine, then you're doing fine. good luck :)

why worry? your doctor already told you that you're doing wonderful..meaning NO PROBLEM AT ALL. and besides, although there's no changes in your body but gaining weight well it all goes to your baby. and if that is your first pregnancy, normally have a small tummy, unless you cover it up, by using gilder to have small tummy while in that situation, hope you won't. i have a small tummy too in my first pregnancy but my baby has no problem when i gave birth on my 2nd time, i have a big tummy, and i gave birth to a big baby boy. nothing to worry my dear, you have a fine doctor, trust him.

every body and pregnancy is different. Some people are huge and some are small. that doesn't matter.. what matters is the health.. not how much you are showing. I am 6 monhts and look 8. My baby is fine.. I have known really small women when pregnant wtih perfect babies
