...sandwiches in half or eat them whole?
Why did my mother always say it was "rude to eat your sandwich whole"?

I do cut mine in half usually, but not to avoid being rude.

half and the kids allways have quarters
its not considered rude its etiquette its considered to be very common on the same level as drinking your tea/coffee with the spoon still in the cup or not using the with back of your fork when eating .
in etiquette different foods all have a right and a wrong way to eat them .

I always like to cut mine diagonally to make two triangles. I don't think it rude to eat them whole, I just like to eat mine in half.

I cut my sandwiches down the middle... so it makes two rectangles which is kind of weird because everyone else cuts them diagonally so it makes two triangles

I think your mom figured if you cut it into two peices, you would feel full by the time you got done eatting it, it's a trick on your mind. so really she just doesn't want you to get fat!

i eat them whole another annoying thing my mom did was cut the crust off the bread honestly if she left it it wouldn't have made any difference.
