I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am and it is on the drivers door towards the bottom, under the arm rest on the door.

Also, check your owners manual. Just look in the back of it under trunk or release. That usually works. I had to do that for my car to figure out how to release the hood because it was different than my old car.

Normally they are located to the left of the steering column near the light switch. Or on the floor to the left of the driver's seat.
