are you kidding? what about the punter who tried to kill seigfried or roy, cant remember which. that guy was white. remember tommy morrison, the boxer, not only did get AIDS he also had drug problems. Chris Mullin, admitted alcoholic. Jason Grimsley, Mark McGuire, both busted for steroids. What about the vicious hockey hits in the last few years, those were both white guys.

so your arguement holds no water. but I will say this, perhaps the reason why there are less white athletes getting in trouble for those things is because there are less white athletes than other races in this country. number makes a difference here. think about it like this: if 10% of all athletes commit these types of crimes and if there 100 black athletes and only 20 white ones, then there will be 10 arrested black athletes and only 2 white ones.

on top of that there is a double standard in this country about black and white athletes. if a black athlete, especially a nba baller does something stupid, than he's a thug. but if a hockey guy does something brutal, on the court, its considered part of the game and he never has to hear that he is a violent thug, even though he is. regardless, the way you asked the question already reveals your bias.

Uh...white players are not exempt from being stupid.

Steve Howe, Pete Rose, and Al Unser Jr. have all had serious legal and/or drug problems.

Take a look at this site.

There does seem to be a much higher number of black atheletes in legal trouble. I suspect that there is probably a socio-economic explanation for this, not racial.

Good Luck!

White do and have had run ins with the law. It comes down to percentages. If there are more blacks than white, percentages say you will see more blacks getting in trouble. It also has to do with cultures. Black people usually surround themselves with others maybe more so than white people. The more people you surround yourself with, the better chance of getting a bad element. When you have money and fame, the chance is magnified many times. Money and fame can make people do unwise things especially if you came from nothing.

I hear about all races of atheletes getting in trouble with drugs etc. Blacks just happen to do it more and get caught more often.

It's a matter of numbers. There are fewer white athletes in the public eye. The reason we hear anything about it is to entertain or to sell magazines, newspapers, etc.

Untrue.

I site:

The very first Olympic snowboarding gold medal went to Canadian Ross Rebagliati. Three days after climbing to the top of the Olympic podium and snowboarding history books, Rebagliati tested positive for marijuana and his gold medal was stripped away by the IOC.

I think it's because there are few really famous white American athletes by comparison. Peyton Manning...uhhh...hmmm. Can't think of any others. No one cares about your legal woes if you aren't that popular.
