Contact the court and see if you can do it by proxy - that is, hire someone to stand in and be your representative there. I assume that this would be a german lawyer.

If you are not in Germany you do not have to respond to
a subpoena ....They cannot have you extradited or arrested
in another nation for failure to pay child support or attend court.
The best they could do would be to issue a bench warrant
and you "might" be arrested should you ever be pulled over
for a traffic violation or something while in the local jurisdiction
of the court issuing the bench warrant in Germany.

When it is between two countries, aren't they suppose to use International law on you? This one couple separated from Canada and USA, somone was talking about them. However to me I would consult an international law lawyer that deals with divorce & child support.

god knows!!! where was the original arrangement made? here or germany?

i would call a solicitor in the first instance, who maybe able to sort it out on your behalf without you going over there.
