Your task basr with the start button can be hidden along the botton of your screen.

Can you see a thin coloured line at the bottom of the screen?

If you can move your mouse pointer down and the arrow will change to a double ended black arrow. Click and pull up slightly and you will see it reappear.

If the start bar is gone then most likely so are the desktop icons, but fear not. This is usually due to the process called explorer.exe which is your computers browser process, crashing.

Do not confuse this with internet explorers process which is iexplorer.exe

To get it running again press the CTRL+ALT+DEL buttons and when task manager comes up click File then New Task when the Run command box pops up type explorer.exe and that should start the process.

If that isn't it then make sure you didn't drag the start bar off screen. An unlocked start bar and be drug down and then left with no bar. Just mouse down to the bottom until you see the arrow change. Then Left click and drag it back out.

Those should do the trick.

Press the key on your keyboard that has a symbol of windows on it...there are 2, one on each side of the space bar, after the Alt key.

That will get you into start.

After you get into start, click on control panel & choose taskbar/start. This will let you put the task bar back on the screen if it somehow got taken off. Or, at least you will know the status and can go from there.

Well you got in to send this question. I do not use the Start to get my computer going, just switch on and it displays all I want. I only use the Start to end usage by clicking Close
