Sorry, not a girl, but their are nerve endings in the hymen. The pain initially may be sharp or dull depending on your sensitivity to pain. However, your endorphins should ease the pain fairly quickly so you can do your best to enjoy the sex. Might I suggest however, that you hold onto you virginity a little longer. Virginity, is a beautiful and symbolic gift for you to give your lifemate, not your emotional, adolescent interest.

Some women find that it hurts or that it bleeds a lot; others that it hurts or bleeds a little; others do not have any symptoms at all. If you have done a lot of exercise and lived an active life so far, you may not even have a hymen.

The best thing to do is to make sure your first time is with someone you love and trust who really understands your needs, so that you feel safe and can tell him to stop if you don't feel 100% comfortable. It should be a positive experience and not scary if you do it right!

Good luck!

Many girls and teens tear or otherwise dilate their hymen while participating in sports like bicycling, horseback riding, gymnastics or inserting tampons, or while masturbating. A girl may not even know this has occurred, since there may be little or no blood or pain involved when this happens. The tissues of the vulva are generally very thin and delicate prior to puberty. The presence or absence of a hymen in no way indicates whether or not a female is a virgin. You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse. That is the definition of “a virgin”. This is off a web site thought it would be helpful.

A lot of girls tend to worry about this unneccassarily, it may feel a little bit uncomfortable the first couple of times, you have sex, remember you can always tell your boyfriend to stop at anytime. If your really worried i would suggest that you masturbate in your room with the door locked and get to know your own body first, when you start to feel really good and wet try inserting your middle finger just a little bit, slowly and gently, if it feels o.k. put your finger in a bit deeper and get used to this feeling and stroke your clitoris to remain stimulated and to give yourself an orgasm or two. After you get to know what you like, your hymen would probably be broken anyway, your vagina will have adjusted to penetration, then you can start thinking about having sex with a boyfriend that you trust. use a water based lubricant and practice safe sex with condoms.Only do it when YOUR ready. Remember to tell him to stop at any stage when you dont feel comfortable. It's against the law if he continues without your permission. You shouldn't feel nervous or scared, you will start to enjoy sex and everything will be fine. Hope this was helpull, I didn't intend to be rude or disrespectful to you in any way just thought this could help, hope everything goes well for you in the future, (am guy sorry bout that)

The hymen is a thin membrane in the vagina and when broken can cause pain, but the pain is very tolerant. During sex for the first time, if the hymen is not already broken from other activities such as horseback riding, etc., then it will break and will cause a little pain and sometimes bleeding. Like I said, the pain is tolerable, which means its not so bad, and the bleeding is just as you would when you spot.

To the first question, you answered your own question about why it hurts with the phrase "when they hymen breaks/rips"...enough said about that. I wanted to stop during the first time because of the pain, but didn't. I don't remember any bleeding, but I guess it might depend on the individual. It's o.k. to be scared and nervous, but being tense might make it more painful for you. If you're that scared and nervous, you might not be ready for "it" yet.

Each woman suffers a different amount of pain when their hymen is broken. It is possible to feel no pain at all. That said, it is most common to feel some discomfort when the hymen is being torn from the walls, or ripped. There are also women who feel a large amount of pain. The amount of pain a woman feels is relative to how thick her membrane is, how attached to the walls it is, and how large the penis is in relation to her natural opening. To reduce pain during a "first time" experience, spending time sexually arousing the female, providing plenty of natural lubrication, will help a lot.

I was 16 and was with my bf of the time for 2 yrs. He lit candles with music... Total fairy tale that's how it should be for every lady and women. When i saw how sweet and romantic he made it for (both) our firsts it totally relaxed me. It did not hurt too much. Only take that step when YOUR ready not just for him or whatever. It's a very sentimental, sry if spelled wrong, item to a women. I did not bleed at all

It does bleed, maybe not at first but it will within an hour. It rips....like ripping skin so therefore that's why it hurts. And yeah it hurt, but only in retrospec. At the time it didn't really hurt all that much, but comparing it to now yeah it did *(i'm married.....wait till then)

Pain and bleeding vary from person to person. If you are really scared, then my suggestion is to wait until you feel comfortable. To be honest, your first time is not usually the best experience, there is some discomfort, and if your not truly ready, then you may regret it.
