Perhaps you never read the book, only watched the movie...which, having read the book prior to watching the movie, I can understand how non-readers can get confused because Alfonso Cuaron mutilated PoA...
Anyways, Siruis Black never intended to kill Harry...it was merely the illusion of his murderous intentions that made non-readers think this...even in the book, when you realize whats going on, you're like, OMG... but...
Sirius Black said, "Let's kill him." in the movie. He was talking about Peter Pettigrew, who was, at the time, Scabbers, Ron's rat. (Pettigrew is an Animagus--can turn into his chosen animal (a rat) at will)
Now, this is not in the movie, so I'll explain:
Years before, when Voldemort was on the hunt for Lily and James Potter, they went into hiding, and Sirius was going to be their secret-keeper (meaning only he can reveal their hiding-place) but just before the spell was performed, Sirius changed with Peter Pettigrew (Scabbers), because Sirius knew Voldemort would never suspect Pettigrew over Sirius.
However, Pettigrew betrayed Lily and James, so Voldemort found them, killed them, tried to kill Harry (that didn't work, obviously) and fled.
Pettigrew staged his own death, killing Muggles, framing Sirius Black, cut off his finger, transformed into a rat, and fled..Sirius was captured, and since no one knew Sirius and Pettigrew had swapped for Secret Keeper, everyone (including Lupin) thought Sirius betrayed Harry's parents...Sirius was put in Azkaban, and somehow, Pettigrew-as-a-rat became the Weasley's pet, Scabbers.
The summer before Prisoner of Azkaban, the Weasleys take a trip to Egypt, and are on the front cover of the Daily Prophet Newspaper...Sirius happens upon a newspaper (details on how insignificant) whilst in prison, and sees Ron in the picture, with a rat...missing a toe. So, Sirius escapes with the plan to hunt down Pettigrew-as-a-rat, and heads to Hogwarts.
As Pettigrew-as-a-rat belongs to Ron, Sirius breaks into Gryffindor tower, trying to capture him...that didn't work.
So, in the Shrieking Shack, when Sirius says "Lets kill him" to Lupin, he is refering to Pettigrew. Sirius had no intention of killing Harry, it was always his plan to kill Pettigrew, but the suspense of the movie causes viewers to believe Sirius is evil (and for a time, Lupin, too), when in actuality, neither of them are.
Is that too much info to gather at once? Sorry. Hope it helped a little...everyone else seemed to be mad at you for not understanding it...whatever... Cuaron mutilated the book...not your fault

Sirius never said Lets kill Harry.... he said, "lets kill him" and by which he is not referring to Harry but rather Ron's ran, Scabber, an animagus by the name of Peter Pettigrew. Petter is a traitor who passed the information to Voldemort and caused the death of Harry's Parents. Also, he faked his own death and cause Sirius to be jailed in Azkaban.

Sirius never wanted to kill Harry. He wanted to kill Ron's rat. You need to watch to movie again or read the book again.

Try reading the book. Or even watching the movie, since it seems unlikely that you can read.
Sirius is on the run because everybody THINKS he killed a bunch of muggles and betrayed Harry's parents to Voldemort.
Turns out it wasn't him, it was Peter Pettigrew, who had been living as the Weasley family's rat for years.
Sirius didn't "change his mind." He never wanted to kill Harry.
You're not the brightest crayon in the box, are you?
