Sailor moon is an anime and manga and was for a long time thought to be one of the "devil's creations." I personally think that if you want to watch something and you know that you are old enough for the content, then you should be able to.
And I can't go very long without reading a manga or watching an anime and that is because it helps me calm down and relax so much. I know how you are feeling because my parents thought the same thing. I was even diagnosed with depreesion as well, so I know how it is. It is no laughing matter, but we all have to find some way to pass the time and keep our minds clear. People always blame the japanese and their creations for almost all of their kids problems.
My parents are very strict about what I watch, but as I always say,"What they don't know, won't hurt them!"
And if you need someone to talk to, just e-mail me. I will write back quickly.

Yeah it is an anime. And I would go into depression if I had to give up anime for 2 WHOLE MONTHS I had to give it up resently for a week and every day I cried....Anime does something to us...All I do one the internet is watch Japanese naruto and talk about it. I went crazy..My grades was/and still are dropping. I just love anime sooo much i cant help it! Why study for a test when i could be watching the greatest shows ever! Naruto! DUH! I loved sailor Moon when I was lik 7-9 and sonic when I was real little! OMG anime is like my whole life I have desided that I am going to live in Japan when I am 18 or 19. that would be sooo awesome dont yah think! go to anime conventions and stuff whenever you lik and you wouldnt have to worry about grades! And it would be even better if we could work with anime! yeah im a lil offa subject but ANIME IS SOOOO FREAKING AWESOME!

I'm sorry to say it is, I did some research:
"The manga resulted in spinoffs into other types of media, including a highly popular anime, musical theatre productions, video games and a live-action (tokusatsu) series. Although most concepts in the many versions overlap, there are often notable differences, and thus continuity between the different formats is limited.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailor_Moon)"
I know wikipedia isn't always trustworthy, but this case it is, sorry.
