Rice. It's single grain and easier for them to break down and digest.
Edit: And give it to her on a SPOON the first time. Thin it down with some formula/breastmilk until it's pretty runny and feed it to her. Once she gets the hang of it, you can start mixing in a little pureed fruit or veggies.

Most drs. will say rice since it has the smallest chance for allergic reaction. You can try any first though. I did rice with my first and it went ok. She really didn't like it though. It didn't taste much different then the breast milk (that is what I mixed it with) and she didn't like it coming from a spoon. Whatever you try use it for 3 days. If your child doesn't have an allergic reaction, then you can try something else. I did oatmeal first with my other 2 children. It has more of a taste and they liked it better.
The big things are 1. to use it exclusively for 3 days without giving them anything else new and 2. Do not put it in a bottle. It could have them choke. I would also mix it pretty thin the first few times. That way they can get used to swallowing a solid before making it thicker. I did have one that wouldn't eat it unless it was pretty thick, but my kids can be weird. I would also try once in the morning for breakfast and once in the evening for dinner. That way I made sure they were getting some. For some kids it takes a while to get used to the spoon.
After cereal, my dr. also recommended then having them eat veggies first (orange then green) Also carrots are harder to digest then the other orange veggies. I had one that couldn't eat carrots until 2 months later. She projectile vomited them. That way they get used to the veggies. Most kids like fruits because of the sugar in them. By giving veggies first you are helping them to like things without sugar. It really helped my kids. They love vegetables.
Good Luck. Oh also you may want to make sure you put a towel over your clothes for a while. I had one that tried to blow on her food and it went all over my clothes. It almost seemed like I was the one that needed the bib:)

The doctors usually recommend that you start them with rice cereal because it usually causes the least allergic reactions. Once you introduce rice and everything is a-ok you can go to Oatmeal. Then I'd introduce jar foods (1 type at a time for about 3 days and if no reaction a new one canbe introduced). I'd save barley for later since it is a common one for allergies.

Always start with Rice. Oatmeal and barley cereals have a chunkier consistency- they can't get as smooth as rice cereal, no matter how much formula you add. The baby's tummy needs to get used to the idea of digesting solids, and the smoother the consistency, the less trouble the baby's tummy will have breaking it down.

rice cereal is always the first cereal to try then move on to the oatmeal and barley and mixed, once you see how your baby tolerates the rice cereal. rice cereal is the first given because it is the easiest to digest in a babys system.

I always went with the rice cereal. Don't put it in a bottle though because babies tend to overeat when put in a bottle. Instead, put it in a little bowl mixed with breastmilk or formula and served w/ a baby spoon. The big thing about eating cereal is to make sure they know how to properly swallow. If she can't use her tongue to swallow, then she isn't ready for cereal yet. You'll know because she'll just push it all back out with her tongue instead of most of it being swallowed. If she's not ready, try again next month until she gets it. Have fun! It's messy!!

Go with Rice, plain at first. It's the easiest to digest and least likely to have allergies. Then give it a week or two to show any allergies, and you can add fruit baby food for flavor. I put rice cereal in my baby's bottle at night and she sleeps like a pro. Remember that babies tend not to like food at first, doctors say it could take up to 15 tries to get them used to something. Good luck!

Rice! Our family pediatrician said that it is most gentle on the baby's stomach. Then after a few months, introduce her to oatmeal. Just be sure to introduce them at separate times. That way if she has an allergic reaction, the dr. can determine what from.

Any of those are fine because they are single grain cereals, but rice is the best to start out with because it is easily digested and has low allergen aspects
