I have known a number of people who preferred random recreational sex, and it didn't work out well in the long run for any of the ones I kept in touch with. In theory, it should be OK, and perhaps it works forever for some people, but in this culture, at any rate, they are rare.

If you are in an open relationship or single I think its okay to sleep with other people, but usually I am picky about my partners so I don't just sleep with any random guy just to get laid. That is what toys are for.
