My family fled Scotland to Ireland back in the late 1500's, settled in County Down Ireland, mixing it up with the Irish for a time and came to America in the early 1700's, settling in Pennsylvania.

How did your Irish blood make it to America, or where ever it is you are these days?

I had a great great grandmother of Irish descent. She lived in Hertfordshire.

Maternal Grandfather, traced back to Ireland, but there were
so many Mc Donalds it couldn't be determined which one.
Granddad came to the US in the early 1800's and married
a Dutch woman that had came to the US as an indentured
servant.

We came from County Cork Ireland on me Mums side , around the early 1800's ; also Scottland on me Da's side, many family members came at the same time and one, Piercy, was lost at sea, so the ships log says; we settled near Boston and Northern Mass and somehow made it to California during WW2 or thereabouts.
