BUT. . . . .The school has made the kids change the name to. . . . . . .'The Three Little Puppies'
WHY ?
Because they said that the use of the word 'Pig' would offend their muslim population !!!!!
What do you think about this ? Is this the craziest PC story you've ever heard ?

If the story is factual, it is indeed ludicrous. However, I would far from call it the most bizarre story of political correctness, especially when dealing with the subject of pandering to Muslim sensibilities. For all their talk of faith in Allah, and the strength that it supposedly accords them, Muslims, by in large, are a hyper sensitive lot – displaying an almost contemptible emotional weakness unworthy of even the most meek school girl. So much discord has transpired over the decades, because of Muslim’s perceived offense at, what would be otherwise seen as innocuous expressions of humor and artistic creativity in western circles. From the violence incited by innocent Danish cartoons, to the death sentences levied at Salman Rushdie for a novel he had written, one always is skating on thin ice whenever one deals with the Muslim culture.
The unfortunate thing is that this political correctness is festering out of control, and infecting parts of our society that should be immune to it (i.e. our children). We can harp on and on about the immaturity and barbarity of the Muslim population in resorting to such radicalism in response to words and art that no other civil person would find offensive, much less fight over, but I think most of our disdain should be directed towards our own western society, which has become so enfeebled that it bends over backwards to appease the lowest and basest in our society. The minority population, whether it be Muslim, black, or gay does not have the right to demand that society conform to their norms, we on the other hand must insist that they abide by ours.

Not only is it crazy but that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. No offence on you though. This political correctness has gone too far. Honestly, too many people get offended over just about anything. They are crybabies. If the muslim population would get offended then they shouldn't attend the play or not let their children participate in it. They shouldn't ruin it for everybody else. The Three Little Pigs is a very old story and shouldn't be changed for anything or anyone. They might as well change our history while they're at it.

Since the Muslim religion has become popular enough to comment in the Europeans and American culture, they have not had the best PR. We as Americans and Europeans welcome them with open arms and forgiving hearts, yet some of the worlds greatest atrocities have occurred at the hand of not just one but several people who claim they are Muslim. Where are our priorities I think all the terrorist acts many Muslims have create din the past have LONDON running scared. Only scared frighten people will make mistakes and avoid the truth because of the possible resistance or pain it might produce.
If this story is true it shows the pure weakness of a country. This story has been passed down from generations to generation to children, they awesome thing is that it probably wasn't copyrighted, yet people respected the humans from the past for their creative ligature. The school of all entities should respect the past and keep truth in their teaching. They are disrespecting the past, disrespecting literature, disrespecting humanity. Obviously this school is not a quality educational entity.

Just another example of how society bends and sways in the winds of the minority. I truly believe that there are minorities that deserve to have certain things changed and altered to uphold their rights, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Is there something wrong with a picture that shows one religion being catered to by not wanting to offend them, but at the same time here in the U.S. Christianity, the predominate religion, is stepped on time and time again. Whatever happened to political incorrectness? Did the U.S. worry about political correctness when they started the Boston Tea Party? I think it is not only an outrage, but it is auspiciously hilarious.

I read this, there wasn't even a complaint from a Muslim when they changed it. It was a preemptive action just in case. They take PC way too far now. Pretty soon we'll have the "Three Little generic biological organisms"

when people get hung up on this P.C. B,S I don't think any thing would surprise me, I know a man who let his daughter marry a black drug dealer as he was afraid he would not be P.C. NOW SHE IS A CRACK WHORE, but I suppose that is better than being prejudice or UN P,C, don't you think???

I thought pigs would only offend police officers. Last I knew, police officers weren't that catty.
I have never heard that term used to offend Muslims. The "Good old" ACLU at work again huh?

Yes, it IS crazy. Unfortunately it's been going on for some time, however, and it's only going to get worse. What?! That CAN'T be true! It's a classic children's story & it's w/PIGS. Puleez! The Muslims won't be TOUCHING or EATING real pigs, they'll be hearing a children's story where 3 fictional characters just happen to be pigs. The distinction needs to be made clear.
