I don't think he will completely flop but he sure as hell won't live up to those unreal expectations Sox fans have set for him.

He will win 10 to 13 at most due to great run support.

From what i seen so far he looks like the real deal!!,,But so what!! He's about the only real good pitcher they have,,Trust me i'v seen our young pitchers, and we have much better pitching by far!! Even if Pavano gets hurt,And Igawa bombs out,,We have plenty of pitching to cover them! Sweet young arms! For once Cashman put all his eggs this off season in one BIG PITCHING BASKET!!!! So bring on the Dice K!!!!

Being a Sox fan I hope he's going to succeed...especially against the Yanks.

Funny how most Stinkee fans think he'll flop, when only about two months ago they themselves bid about $40,000,000 "just for the right to negotiate with him".

Don't be all poopy just because, for the first time ever, the mighty Yankees got outbid...

Dude, im a Die Hard Yankee fan, and even I can see that Matsuzaka, atleast has great stuff, If you judge him from what you see in spring training yer an idiot. Everyone is working on things in Spring Training. And apparently he has been alot like Hideki and Ichiro, in that he has been playing under the spolight of his entire country since he was in highschool, because he is the best pitcher theyve ever produced, so pressure wont bother him. Ild LOVE to see him fall flat on his a*s.. but i saw him in the World Baseball Classic, and in all fairness, he was scarey good, and he was pitching against the best players we had.. He had an at bat against Derek Lee that just looked unfair LOL... i think he's going to be Real good...unfortunately.

I am not sure he'll flop. I have read more than 1 article where respected baseball men (writers, GMs, managers) have gone as far as saying he is the "best pitching on the planet".. Sure, there is adjustment, but his stuff is flat out filthy.

I say his first few starts will be great but it is only a matter of time till batters start to get to him.

I don't think his stuff looked that nasty. He will have some success, but no asian pitcher in MLB has ever had long term success.
