Tom's getting rid of myspace at the end of the year.....Now how the hell am I gonna talk to all my peeps in Finland?

First off "Tom" (Tom Anderson) is a supposed founder NOT an owner. The current owner is News Corp. out New York (they own Fox and other media giants). There's much controversy because the website was originally designed as a Spam delivery system aimed at exploiting Friendster, and had initially gained popularity through an intensive mass email campaign rather than word of mouth. It is also rumored that "Tom" was originally hired as a copyeditor and his "founder" and "first friend" status was a public relations invention. There are still rather serious allegations out there about News Corp and Myspace that could potentially shut down the website.
Another interesting fact is that the population on MySpace is currently at least 154 million and it is rising drastically with rates of about 300,000 new members per day.

getting rid of myspace or selling myspace? That's got to be worth a FORTUNE. Oh well, i'm the only 24 year old out there without a myspace acct anyways.
