I've currently got the HD20 DirectTV receiver. If I want to go to Best Buy or similar store and buy the DirectTV HD-DVR Receiver will I be able to take it home and install/activate it? Or will I need a technician to come out and do it? On a scale of 1 - 10 on the tecno scale I'm a 7.

Thanks!

You will be able to do this yourself. Really all that is involved is removing the cable from your HD20 box and placing them in the same spots on the DVR box. Note that the DVR box will require the use of a phone line (to receive updates, etc).

ALSO NOTE THAT WHEN YOU BUY A NEW DIRECT TV BOX AND ACTIVATE IT - THEY AUTOMATICALLY EXTEND YOUR AGREEMENT BY TWO YEARS.

If you cancel within the next two years, you will be required to pay for any unused months.
